I'm going to a friend's 21st this weekend and bought this dress on sale:

The photo really doesn't show the dress very well, as the colours are actually very bright and bold.
Only problem is, I don't know what kind of shoes to wear or how to wear the dress itself. It's probably going to be kind of cold ish that night, so I was thinking maybe black tights? I'm not good with fashion, so any help is appreciated!
I was even thinking a black cardigan or something too, because I'm a bit pale and don't like showing off my arms. lol. Also, I'm pretty short and a little pudgy, so maybe that needs to be taken into consideration with the choice of accessories?
help please?

I'm not the best at this haha

You are not pudgy, stop it!
If the dress is as bright as you id say go for more basic colors (black, white) and nothing else of pattern... but thats just me!

your not pudgy! agreed, the dress is gorgeous also.
I'd say go for a black cardigan, and tights would work too, though I would go for gold accessories if anything. I would say go for bright also, but I think gold would look much better.

I was thinking maybe beads for a necklace, so gold would be better than black? so if i'm wearing black tights/cardigan/necklace it would be overkill yeah? Gold sounds good. What kind of shoes would I wear though?
haha oh I'm soooo bad at this

That dress will look gorgeous on you! I would wear just simple black flats, gold accessories definitely, gold will look very pretty with all the bright colors. I'm not sure about the black tights, I would go with kind of regular transparent? There are nice ones that keep you warm also. Pick a shade that is just a tiny bit darker than your skintone. I always thought that looked nice. And then a cardigan to match the shoes et voila!

yeah, now that I think about it, forget the black tights, go with skin color. and Gold is a great idea for a necklace. Shows I would go with flats, nothing with too much detail.

Don't go too over the top with accessories, just a simple necklace and maybe a bracelet or three. The print is really bold, so you don't need to make as much of a statement with your accessories.

AGREED!
Simple black shoes would be lovely. Nothing crazy because as Sarah said, the dress has enough detail.

Definitely no black tights if you're wearing a cardi, either. It may still be coldish (yeah, right!) but it's not winter yet!

black leggings with some black pumps. Then you could punt on some bangles. and a nice necklace.

I'm thinking black peep-toe pumps, and nothing else..., the dress is very decorative, so adding accessories will probably make it looks to messy

Hey Alycia.
The dress is gorgeous! Where did you get it?
In my opinion, the best idea would definitely be to wear some black tights. There is nothing worse then being freezing at a party.
I also think they would make the colors really be bold and beautiful, sounds so pretty.

But I'd pair it with some black high heeled pumps and a little black clutch handbag.
The dress is a statement piece on its own so I don't think there is any need to add jewelery because it'll look over done.
Keep makeup to a minimum and you'll look amazing.

Hope you have a great night.
Be sure to take a photo and show us all how it looks.

Good Luck, Lauren.xx

I got the dress on sale at my local target, I don't have many dresses at all so I'm very bad at this lol.
I wore black flats and a black cardigan, with a long gold heart locket shaped necklace. I had about half an hour to get cheap shoes and jewellery so I don't think I did too well. Lol. But I looked okay. I don't have any pictures of me in full unfortunately!
Thanks so much to everyone for your help!! I now have some good tips for the future
