I've had my MacBook over a year now. I've always left it in sleep mode, just shut the lid and it's done. The last couple of days, whenever i've opened up the MacBook, the trackpad has frozen so the curser won't do anything. I have to shut the computer down by holding the power button, and then turning it back on. I've tried google, but I don't understand all the technical lingo! Any ideas?
I know you'll say, don't put it in sleep mode, turn it off properly. I am trying! It's just out of habit and it's annoying to have to force a shut down and then having to restart again. |

Naw, I ain't gonna tell you that! I was more gonna go along the "this is what you get when you buy Apple..." line. But that would be unproductive. So I won't.

Well did some digging on this issue, and while Apple wont admit there are issues (an Apple product not working? NEVER! Bunch of lying fuckwits) it's actually very common.
The issue has been tracked down to using cheap parts, and there is no fix at all. It eventually happens to almost every newer Macbook over an 18 month period. In short, don't waste your money on a Mac in future. Get a Sony, Toshiba, Dell, Samsung, whatever. Half the price, more powerful, less issues. |

Do you have Applecare? If so, just book an appointment and they'll get it fixed for you free of charge.

Just to update you if any of you care, it would cost me £350 to repair! Screw that. I've had it wiped and i'm going to sell it for parts on ebay and with Robbs help, I bought myself a new laptop (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
