Help. I was asked to do a charity 5 km run on July 3rd and I absolutely want to do this because 1) I care about the people I'll be doing this with and 2) it will be good motivation to get into shape.
I need some tips and tricks for sort of going from no running at all to being able to survive that in July. My problems: - it's not my legs or lungs, it's my arms that are killing me when I run. Why, I just don't know. - I just don't know how to start (start slowly, obviously, but how ... I was thinking sort of walk a bit, then run a bit and gradually increase the running parts, is that a good idea?) - I'm really good at sprinting and I always beat the boys on 60m or 100m in highschool BUT I have no stamina for anything more than that Maybe you have some good ideas so I can not die.
