I was wondering if anyone could explain why a Grand-Am would basically start kicking really hard into gear. It's an automatic but when it is switching gears it seems as if you are driving a standard really badly and don't know how to shift gears. It seems like when you shift gears the car is about to stall and does that shudder thing. It only seems to happen when going from 1st to second and to third.
I don't normally drive this car (because it is my mom's and I have my own) but it seems that every time I do I am always left wondering why the heck that happens? |

I have an 02 Grand am and theyre actually known for shifting really well in the automatics so I suggest you see a mechanic. My Chevy used to have phases where it would jump when it automatically shifted and it was luckily just due to air getting into a line.
