She's a teacup Yorkshire Terrier. She's currently 5 pounds full grown, though the SA told us she's be around 3-4 pounds. She was purchased a little over a year ago when she was 3 months old. That's a very old picture, I'll post a new one tomorrow. She's a mute dog, she NEVER barks, only when she plays--she'll growl a little. It's sad, no other dog seems to like her, but she sure likes them! She seems very scared a smaller dogs, but is very intrigued by HUGE dogs. She'll run to the door when she hears my car lock outside! My dad bought my sister this $2,100 dog because she BEGGED AND CRIED for three days straight after seeing her in the pet store window. (I posted the same picture a bunch of times so that my thread didn't look too sad. I'll post more soon. |

Aw I want a cute little dog like that! Right now, I just have a HUGE dog. (Half lab/half husky) I just want one I can carry around =) I'm jealous of your dog.

But my little cousins recently adopted a Jack Russell from the pound! Out of control, that dog. The two cousins named him Russell, creative huh? I asked them why they named him Russell, they said because the dog across the street was named Jack, and they didn't want their dog to be confused. HAHA. |

Well its just the idea of most pet shops, and their puppies coming from puppy mills in the mid west.. nothing really to do with going to a pound.
"A puppy mill is a mass dog breeding establishment that produces puppies for profit by selling them wholesale to the pet industry. Many puppy mills are characterized by overcrowding, filth, inadequate shelter, and insufficient food, water, and veterinary care. Most puppy mill owners sell their dogs wholesale to brokers, who in turn, sell them primarily to pet stores. Because profit, not quality dogs, is the ultimate goal of the puppy mill owner, breeding practices are often shoddy, and the breeding dogs are kept under the most inexpensive possible conditions that will keep them alive and producing. In contrast, there are hundreds of responsible and reputable kennels and breeding establishments throughout the country whose owners make a profit, but not at the expense of their dogs. Whether these breeders are full-time professionals making an entire living from a kennel, or hobby breeders with 5 or 10 animals, the responsible breeder is as concerned with improving the quality of the breed, by showing or belonging to a breed club, than he or she is at making money. Customers wishing to buy puppies from these breeders are welcome to inspect the premises and in most cases, to meet the puppies parents. We almost had a 1/2 Yorkie 1/2 Pom (my roomates dog and her Mom's dog had an oops litter) but then I learnt I was allergic to yorkies and to the puppy too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
Your dog is so cute!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I worry about small dogs and Caiden though, they tend to be a bit more snippy. |

she's cute, but I dunno if I'd ever want to pay 2k for a dog. My best dog in the world, who I love and miss dearly, I got her for free. A Siberian husky. She was a beautiful dog. Spoiled brat too. My mom had promised me that if I moved home she'd get me another husky, yet I have yet to see anything that looks like a dog.

Aw what a cutie. I do like Yorkies, they're by far the pretties "purse dogs" out there. Some girl at uni has one, she takes it to school like a lot of girls here do and one time it pooped in the corner .. hm. But I love that fluffy face, aww!
