This is for a term paper I have to write for my Linguistics class. I was wondering if some of you could help me with this, since I don't have much access to English native speakers in this country =)
If you can remember the very first word you could say when you were a child, please tell me what it was and if you were pronouncing it incorrectly at first (you probably were) please tell me how you pronounced it. Thanks in advance! |

After ringing my mother (aren't I nice) mine was "all gone" pronounced pretty accurately, but sometimes "Aw gone".
If it helps, the reason why is that when I was eating, once it was finished my mother would always say "All gone". So eventually I started saying it too. My sisters was "more". |

My first word was "Oh dear". I was always being clumsy when I was little, my mother used to always say "oh dear" when I fell over, or coughed.

Mine was dada, pronounced just how it looks. I said it right the first time and my mom wasn't happy about it because she wanted my first word to be mama.

As embaressing as it may be, my first word was 'T-itty'. Only because as a child we had new litters of cats constantly.
I had a problems saying my C's & K's & until the fourth grade, All K & C words came out to sound like a T. At the time it seemed so innocent. Now you know way too much, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) . |

^ha don't worry. I used to call my dog "Farty" instead of "Sparky" because my whole speech was whacked out when I was young. My preschool teacher had to make sure what my dog's name was with my mom because I kept telling her it was Farty lol.
My first word? Daddy. Probably not how it usually sounds, but that was my intention lol. |

Not sure what mind was, but Caiden's was "Hi kitty" pronounced clear as day.

Oooh, thanks everyone for remembering and/or ringing your mothers! =) It's pretty cool to see that there were so many different ones not just daddy or mommy.
And I love yours, Krystal haha! |
