Someone keeps sending me a link to it, and I don't get it. Is it just trying to 'prove' that Christianity isn't true? I've started watching the movie (http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/) and it seems extremely interesting. I think this topic could make a good discussion. If you don't know what zeigeist is (like me.hah) watch the movie, and put in your two cents.

that's what i said. that christianity isn't true.
edit: i just finished part 1. i think that it has some very interesting stuff in it. It actually makes a lot of sense if you think about it. What if 'Jesus Christ' was actually meant to be the sun. and the whole bible is based on astrology, just wrongly interpreted. What do you guys think? The proof of intelligent design is irrelevant, religion isn't based on fact anyway, it's based on faith.

but it's faith in something that isn't even true. People believe in Jesus Christ as the son of God, believe in heaven and hell all because of the bible. This is saying that the bible has nothing to do with Jesus Christ etc, but has to do with astrology. Christianity wouldn't be a religion if the bible had been interpreted astrologically.

Gee which is less believable, the bible, or astrology?
Both are worthless. |

I like astrology, Robb! And yeah, maybe learning the the location of each of the planets when you were born is really interesting. I've never seen any mention of astrology in the Bible though.
No, I don't think the Bible is true either. My personal opinion is that it is a book of stories that tell you how to live. Maybe some of the stuff happened once, but it was so long ago, and it's been translated and re-translated so many times, it can't be 100% truth anymore. As I said before, religion isn't truth, it's a belief, and they are NOT always the same thing. |

I've seen this movie over the summer. Its not just about proving that Christianity isn't true, its about how most religions were thought up. Its also about how money/power hungry America is. Its quite interesting, made me want to move out of America though.

People have been using religion to keep certain people in power for thousands of years, and not just in America, it's happened throughout history. So I wouldn't worry about it.
