Well the Blackberry is more a business persons phone in all honesty. It integrates brilliantly with office systems, exchange servers and the like. All in all a great business smart phone.

The iPhone is an ok smart phone, but it has it's issues. Main one being it's not your phone. It's Apple's phone and they decide what you can and cannot do. Also the 3g connectivity is intermediate at best by all reports. All in all it's an ok phone.

I would advise a HTC Desire, either the original or the Desire HD. Everything the iPhone can do, but better battery life, better screen, and you can playback anything on them. Yes it has it's own application store too called Market Place. I've been using a Desire for quite a few months now and it is great out of the box. When you start hacking it, gets even better.

The iPhone. It's hands down the easiest touchscreen phone I've ever used and everything is really simple and easy to get used to. My original reason for getting an iPhone was because the Blackberry I had looked at, at that time, didn't have software that was compatible with Macs. So obviously with an iPhone you'll get great connectivity with your Mac as well. Like it can sync your photos with iPhoto, calendars with iCal etc.

Whatever phone you get though... make sure you get insurance for it too!

Both the Blackberry and Iphone require extra media packages here in the US that will make your plan cost more, not sure about the UK though. That would be a factor in which I would get.

I personally adore my iPhone. I hate smart phones (I needed something *simple* that had the features I want) and the iphone was just the choice for me. Even Caiden uses it (we have some kid apps for him on there) and I don't regret it at all! I just wish I got the 12 or 16gb instead of the 8.

Best summary I've seen.

iPhone, it's a smart phone that's not very smart. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

So many of my friends screen has broken though. I'm quite clumsy when it comes to phones.

I've dropped the iphone quite a few times too.

You'll definitely want to get some sort of protective case for the iphone though, even though it doesn't cover the screen, it takes the brunt of force from a drop, which ends up protecting the screen a bit.
